Review: Emma Fletcher Photography

This Hitchin Mummy and family had a photoshoot with Emma Fletcher Photography in the gorgeous bluebells of Hitch Wood. Here’s how it went…

How many REALLY nice photos do you have of your and your other half? What about the whole family? At the same time?

It’s a running joke between by husband and I that we aren’t very photogenic. At our engagement party we created a whole video of “bad photos” after giving up on finding any nice ones…

Our children have, on the whole inherited our talent. The oldest, Lottie, simply cannot smile for photos. Matilda is a but more of a poser but as soon as the camera is out her gorgeous grins disappear!

Needless to say I thought Emma would have a tough time – especially as we took our crazy Labrador, Heston, along too.

The shoot

Emma specialises in newborn, maternity and family shoots. Newborns shoots can be shot in the comfort of your own home, meaning no need to worry about feeds or nap time – Emma will work around baby. For maternity and family shoots, Emma works on location as it creates a relaxed environment and a beautiful backdrop.

On our shoot, Emma put us and the girls at ease immediately. We started with some photos of Matilda, then the two girls together. They played with each other in the leaves whilst Emma snapped away. Then the whole family (including the dog) got involved. Somehow Emma got some lovely photos of all five of us – an impressive feat!

The smiles in the photos are genuine; we had fun. We played with leaves, hid in dens, ran through the woods and we laughed a lot.

We had a lovely family outing but most importantly we got some photos we will genuinely treasure forever.
